In 2013, I moved to my studio in Dumbo in the middle of the winter. Back then, Dumbo still exhibited the character of its formal industrial past.

Outside my window, I could see the blizzard blanketing the Manhattan Bridge and the cobblestones of the neighborhood. Over the next few months, I sneaked into as many building rooftops as possible to photograph the neighborhood amid the zealous watch of doormen who often tried to chase me out.
